Ukraine carried out multiple drone strikes, hitting two residential buildings in Russia's Tambov region. Russian officials said some people were injured. British news agency Reuters reported this news.
Tambov region chief Yevgeny Pervishov said on the Telegram messaging app on Saturday that two buildings in the city of Kotovsk were treated for injuries caused by drone strikes.
This city is located about 480 km southeast of Moscow.
Pervishov also said that there was little damage to the buildings and temporary accommodation has been arranged for the affected residents.
Russia's Defense Ministry said separately that 85 Ukrainian drones were destroyed overnight. Of these, 31 were intercepted over the Black Sea, 16 over the Voronezh and Krasnodar regions, and 14 over the Azov Sea.
Ukraine did not immediately comment on the developments.
Both sides in the Ukraine conflict have weaponized cheap commercial drones and ramped up drone production. Russian and Ukrainian troops have reported terrifying experiences of drone strikes. Both sides are using videos of drone strikes as propaganda.
Earlier on Friday, Russia accused Ukraine of launching a missile attack on a supermarket in the Russian-controlled eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk.
