US President Donald Trump on Monday stopped the funding of $ 2.2 billion (about 18 thousand crores) of Harvard University.
This action was taken because Harvard refused to accept the demands of the White House, which aims to strictly on the anti-Jewish activities on the campus.
In fact, the Trump administration had demanded in front of the university on 3 April that the government should be given control of the government's governance, admission and hiring process and a big change should be made in them.
Apart from this, there was a demand to close the diversity office and to cooperate with the immigration officers in the investigation of international students.
Harvard rejected these demands as illegal and unconstitutional. After this, on Monday night, the Trump administration told Harvard that his federal funding of more than $ 2 billion was stopping.
In October 2023, a rally was held against Palestine's support at Harvard University and Israel.
Harvard President said- We will not bow down to the government
Harvard President Alan Garbar said in a letter to the students and faculty that the university will not bow down to the government and would not compromise on its freedom and constitutional rights.
Garbar said that any government, or any party sitting in power, cannot decide what the private university can teach, who can admission or give jobs, and what subjects can study or research on what subjects.
In response, Trump's 'Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism' issued a statement saying that the funding of $ 2.2 billion to Harvard and funding of $ 60 million has been stopped.

Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism said Harvard's statement reflects a worrying mentality spread in our country's best universities and colleges. It shows that they want to get government funding, but do not want to take responsibility for following the laws.
The task force further said that in the last few years, there have been obstacles in studies in many campuses, which are not acceptable to us. Jewish students cannot be tolerated. Now the time has come that these top universities take this problem seriously and if they want to continue to get funding from the taxpayers, then be ready to bring concrete changes.
Palestinian flag was hoisted in the university
There were demonstrations in support of Palestine in several Universities in the US last year against the ongoing Israel-Hamas Jung in Gaza. Thousands of students took part in these demonstrations. According to AP report, more than 1000 students were also arrested.
During this time, the Palestinian flag was hoisted by the students at Harvard University. The university had said to take action against the students, calling it against the policy.
