This time, Ukraine launched UK-made Storm Shadow missiles at Russia

Ukraine has fired UK-made Storm Shadow cruise missiles into Russia. Reuters reports that Ukraine launched the missile on Wednesday, a day after it launched a US-made ATACMS missile.

According to the report, Ukraine fired several Storm Shadow cruise missiles simultaneously to hit Russian targets. Russian war correspondents reported the attack on multiple Telegram channels.

A Russian official also confirmed the attack to Reuters on condition of anonymity. However, a spokesman for the General Staff of Ukraine said he currently has no information about the attack.

Russian war correspondents posted multiple videos of the attack on Telegram. They say that those missiles exploded with a loud noise in the Kursk region of Russia. At least 14 large explosions were heard. And these explosions were heard after hearing the sharp sound of a missile-like weapon.

A video captured from a residential area also showed black smoke billowing in the distance.

Ukraine has fired 12 Storm Shadows over the Kursk region, according to two major pro-Russian Telegram channels. Fragments of this missile have also been seen in several pictures.

Reuters asked British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's office about the attack. A spokesman for Starmer, however, said the British Prime Minister's Office would not comment on the attack.

The UK has previously authorized Ukraine to launch Storm Shadow missile strikes against Russia. However, this permission was limited to use within Ukrainian territory to prevent Russian troops from entering Ukraine.

Russian authorities say the use of Western weapons to strike deep into Russian territory from the border will escalate the conflict. But Kiev claims it needs more capabilities to defend itself and counter attacks from Russia's various bases. Last Tuesday, Russia-Ukraine war entered the 1000th day.
