Syrian Manbij car bombed 20

At least 20 people were killed and several others were injured in a car bombing on the outskirts of Manbij, northern Syria. The Syrian President's Office confirmed the casualties in Monday's explosion. Qatar -based news media al -Jazeera reported this.

The explosion was the most horrific attack in the country after President Bashar al-Assad's collapse last December. The incident took place in the region less than a month in the last one month. The area clashes between Türkiye-backed forces and a group under Kurdish-led group.

The new Syrian president, Ahmed al-Shahara's office, has condemned the 'terrorist' attack and said they will ensure the accountability of those responsible for the incident.

The President's Office said in a statement that those responsible for the crime would be most severely punished, so that the thought of security or harm to the people would be an example for anyone.

Hospital workers told the Associated Press that a bomb exploded near a car at night, where most of the agricultural workers were. The Syrian Civil Defense, known as White Helmets, says at least five women and three children were killed in the attack.

So far no group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.

Four people were killed and nine others were injured in a car bombing in the city on Saturday, state news agency Sana said.

An activist and journalist of Manbiz told the Jamil al-Sayyid Associated Press that residents were forced to be more careful because of repeated attacks.

During the Syrian Civil War, which began in the 21st, the control of Manbiz, located south of the Turkish border and east of Aleppo, has changed many times.

Last December, Türkiye-backed groups occupied it from the US-backed Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The group condemned Monday's bombing. The SDF has said without proof that Turkey's 'tenant troops' are behind the attack.

NATO Mitra of the United States sees SDF as the People's Protection Units (YPG) and Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) branch. Türkiye has declared the YPG and PKK terrorist groups.
