Russia is optimistic about the Trump administration on the Ukraine issue

Aides of newly elected US President Donald Trump have talked about a possible peace plan in Ukraine, but the current Biden administration is trying to escalate the conflict instead. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the comments on Monday (November 25) when asked about an interview by Mike Waltz on US broadcaster Fox News. British news agency Reuters reported this.

Peskov said he is at least hearing peace or peace plans from nominees for a future Trump administration. But no such word is being heard from the Biden administration. Instead, they continued to take provocative actions. This is the current reality.

Mike Waltz, the Trump administration's national security adviser nominee, said Sunday that Trump is deeply concerned about the Ukraine-Russia conflict. He wants to end the war in a responsible way.

He also said that they are trying to make a decision by analyzing North Korea and Iran's involvement in the conflict, the use of hypersonic ballistic missiles, some Western countries allowing Kiev to launch their missiles deep into Russia, South Korea's possible participation in the conflict, etc. Now they should discuss who will be at the negotiating table, what the terms of the ceasefire will be and how to work to bring the two sides to the talks.

Peskov commented that the Kremlin took into account Waltz's statement. He also said that President Putin has repeatedly spoken about preparations for dialogue on Ukraine.

Putin in June asked Ukraine to abandon its aspirations for NATO membership as a precondition for peace talks. In addition, he also stipulated that the four Ukrainian provinces claimed by Moscow should be fully handed over to them.

Kiev rejected his terms. Such surrender is unacceptable for Ukraine, they said.
