In a major success, Amritsar Commissionerate Police has busted a gang smuggling drugs and weapons worth more than Rs 60 crore from across the border. During this operation, 3 smugglers including a woman were arrested and a large quantity of narcotics and elephant was seized.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said that the police recovered 8.275 kg heroin, 6 kg opium, 13.1 kg chemical (a substance used in the production of drugs), 4 pistols and 17 live cartridges from the possession of the accused. This seizure is not only an important step in curbing drug trafficking but also a blow to the arms cartels associated with it.
The arrested persons have been identified as Aditya Pratap alias Kaka (23), resident of Bhalla Colony Chheharta, Amritsar, and Shambhu Kabir (35), resident of Prem Nagar, Kot Khalsa, Amritsar. At the same time, a girl has also been caught, who is the daughter of the leader of this gang.

Know how the gang was caught Police Commissioner Amritsar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that acting on credible sources regarding Aditya alias Kaka's involvement in arms smuggling, police teams of Police Station Islamabad laid a trap and arrested him from a closed kiln located on Prem Nagar Road, Kot Khalsa, Amritsar. Controlled. Two pistols (.32 bore and .30 bore) and 13 live cartridges were recovered from him.
He told that during the upcoming investigation of this case, the name of accused Shambhu Kabir came up. The police named him and immediately started action for his arrest. Shambhu Kabir was arrested from the old gas godown located on Guru Ki Wadali Road. On his investigation, 275 grams of heroin, 11.1 kg of chemical used in making heroin and a pistol of .32 bore were recovered.
CP further said that on the behest of Aditya alias Kaka, two parcels of 5 kg and 3 kg heroin, 2 kg chemical, 6 kg opium and 9 mm Glock pistol along with one live cartridge were recovered. He said more arrests and seizures are expected in the coming days.
The accused were caught standing in police custody.
