A youth from Punjab died of a heart attack in Armenia. The deceased has been identified as Varinder Singh, resident of village Shahpur (Ghataur) of Kurali Majri in Mohali district. The family of the deceased youth sought help from the Punjab and Central governments to bring the body to India.

Varinder's elder brother Rohit Singh, son of Paramjeet Singh said – his brother had gone to Armenia for employment in 2018. Varinder used to work in a farm house there. On November 19, he was going to work when he suffered a heart attack in the afternoon.
Virendra remained lying on the road for about 5 hours, until he was taken to the hospital. He had died. Rohit Singh has appealed to the Punjab Government and the Ministry of External Affairs to help in bringing Virendra's body to the village.
Amritsar agent had sent him abroad
Rohit Singh told that a travel agent from Amritsar had sent Virendra abroad. In return for this, about Rs 18 lakh was taken from him. Virendra was to be sent to Japan. But he was sent to Armenia. From there there was talk of being sent further to Japan. But he died there. Virendra was worried for a long time due to not being able to go to Japan.
