Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) protest program in Pakistan's capital Islamabad has been called off for three consecutive days. The party's announcement came after a massive crackdown on protesters at D-Chowk on Tuesday (November 26) night. Senior leaders of the party were also seen fleeing during the raid. In a report, the country's media The Express Tribune reported this news.
Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Information Minister Ataullah Tarar said PTI protesters dispersed on Tuesday. Later they fled towards Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).
According to several media reports in the country, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and PTI founder Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi have reached KP.
“Law enforcement personnel have cleared the area and the protests have stopped,” Naqvi said. Gandapur and Bushra Bibi fled.
Meanwhile, Tarar reported that the PTI protesters had fled the capital.
Protesters gathered at D-Chowk on the third day of a 'final call' for the release of jailed PTI leader Imran Khan on Tuesday. He blocked the road with his container. At that time there was a massive clash between the protesters and the police.
The police arrested more than 450 workers of PTI in a massive raid late that night. Amid intense gunfire, Bush fled to Bibi and Gandapur in a car.
