In a meeting with Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus, President Zardari sought better rail connectivity to increase trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti were also present during this meeting. During the meeting, Zardari praised Turkey, calling it a true friend of Pakistan and a strong voice for the Muslim world. The two leaders expressed concern over the dire humanitarian situation in Palestine and Lebanon. President Zardari said that Turkey is on its way to becoming an economic power. He expressed his best wishes for the success and prosperity of the country.
President Zardari also met with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. During this, he recalled his previous meetings with the President's father Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and talked about the strong relations between the two countries. Zardari stressed the importance of further strengthening mutual relations and increasing exchanges between the two countries.
Zardari also talked to Russian President Vladimir Putin during this period. During this, both laid emphasis on strengthening bilateral relations. The two heads of state also exchanged mutual invitations to pay official visits to each other's countries.
