Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has chosen retired Major General Ayal Jamir for the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). Ayeal Jamir will replace Lt Gen Harji Halevi. Jamir has become the 24th of IDF, he will take over on 6 March.
Israel's Prime Minister's Office posted on X and informed about this. Halevi resigned last month due to failure to stop Hamas's attack. According to the Times of Israel, after the ceasefire agreement between Israel Hamas, Halevi's post was already being decided.
Halevi congratulated Jamir and said,

I have known Aayal for many years, and I am confident that he will pursue the IDF firmly for the challenges to come. I wish them all the best for this responsibility.

Apart from Jamir, Defense Minister Israel Katj also gave the names of Major General Amir Baram (Deputy Chief of Staff) and Major General Tamir Yadai for this post.
Israel's warning to Palestinian terrorist
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katj warned terrorist Zakaria Zubedi on Saturday. Zakaria Zubedi was recently released on Thursday during the exchange.
Katj wrote while posting on X,

Zakaria Zubedi, you have been released under the release agreement of Israeli hostages. If you made a single mistake, then you are going to meet your old friends. We will not accept the support of terrorism

Who is Zakaria Zubedi?
49-year-old Zakaria Zubaidi has been the head of Al-Auksa Shaheed Brigade. In 2002, he attacked the Likud Polling Center at Beet Shiyan, killing 6 people.
In 2004, he took responsibility for the bombings in Tel Aviv, in which 1 person was killed and 30 injured. In addition, he has been involved in firing and attacks on several buses.
In 2021, Zubedi was one of the six prisoners who escaped from Israel's Gilboa jail, but were caught again. The reason for his popularity among Palestinians is that he survived even after several attempts to kill Israel during the second Intefada (2000–2005).
