Myanmar's military leader Min Aung Hlaing is accused of violence, oppression and crimes against humanity.
International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan has appealed to issue an arrest warrant against Myanmar's military leader Min Aung Hlaing. Min Aung is accused of violence, persecution and crimes against humanity against minority Rohingya Muslims. Because of this, several lakhs of Rohingya were forced to flee to Bangladesh.
Karim Khan characterized the violence against the Rohingya as ethnic cleansing, including mass killing, rape and the destruction of settlements. He soon announced an appeal for arrest warrants against other leaders of Myanmar also. Min Aung Hlaing seized power in Myanmar in 2021 by overthrowing Aung San Suu Kyi.

Who are Rohingya Muslims? Rohingya Muslims are a minority living mainly in the Arakan province of Myanmar. – They were settled here centuries ago by the Mughal rulers of Arakan. In the year 1785, the Burmese Buddhists captured Arakan, the southern part of the country. – They tried to drive out Rohingya Muslims by killing thousands of them. – After this, a period of violence and massacre started between the people of Buddhist religion and Rohingya Muslims, which continues till now.

In the year 2012, a minister of Myanmar had also announced this. – In this way these people have no country. They have been facing severe repression since the beginning. – There have been severe riots in the country for some time, in which Rohingya Muslims had to bear the maximum loss of life and property. – Due to this, they are living in refugee camps located on the border of Bangladesh and Thailand, where their condition is very bad.
