The crown of Maa Kali has been stolen from Jeshoreshwari temple in Bangladesh. It is a silver crown plated with gold. CCTV footage of this incident surfaced on Friday.
PM Modi visited Jeshoreshwari temple during his visit to Bangladesh in 2021. During this time he had offered this crown in the temple. This visit of Modi was the first visit to any country after Covid-19.
India has expressed objection to the incident of theft. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka has demanded action.

In the CCTV footage, a suspect is seen in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.
The suspect has his hands behind his back. It is estimated that he has a crown in his hand.
The theft took place on Thursday between 2 pm and 2.30 pm. The cleaning staff of the temple noticed that the crown was missing from the goddess's head. After this, Shyamnagar police was informed about this. Inspector Taijul Islam of Shyamnagar police station said that they are examining the CCTV footage of the temple to identify the thief.

Joshreshwari Temple is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. Joshreshwari temple of Maa Kali is considered one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in Hindu religion. This temple is located in Satkhira, Bangladesh and was built by a Brahmin named Anari in the 12th century. It used to have 100 doors.
It was rebuilt by Lakshman Sen in the 13th century and Raja Pratapaditya in the 16th century. After the coup in Bangladesh, a large number of incidents of violence against Hindu minority Hindus were reported in Bangladesh.
