Message of Imam of Delhi Jama Masjid to Yunus government


The chief advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh. Syed Ahmed Bukhari, Shahi Imam of Jame Masjid, Delhi, India has written a letter to Muhammad Yunus on minority issues. In the letter, he said, even if a country is dominated by Muslims, there can be no place for hatred of minorities. It should not be in Bangladesh.

Syed Ahmed Bukhari said, I hope that the current head of Bangladesh, Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus, will take appropriate steps to stop the persecution of minorities. I hope you (Dr. Yunus) will maintain your reputation in international circles.

Imam Bukhari also wrote in the letter, “Even if Bangladesh is a Muslim-dominated country, the Hindu community will be persecuted there, Islam never gives this message.”

In his words, persecution of minorities must be stopped immediately. Although this is an internal matter of Bangladesh, such incidents cannot be accepted

He also mentioned in the letter how India has stood by Bangladesh for a long time.
