Russia's overnight drone attacks were damaged by Kiev's residential buildings and cars were set on fire across the city. On Sunday (May 7th), Ukraine's army and Kiev city officials said the airstrikes were issued for about an hour after 9pm, Kiev and its surrounding areas and Ukraine. Kiev's military administration chief Timur Takachenko said on social media that a residential building was set on fire in Obolonki and Sviyatosesky districts of Kiev by setting fire from the destroyed drones.
Eyewitnesses in Reuters said they had heard the sound of several explosions, which seemed to be the activities of the sky defense system.
The Governor of the Cherkasi region, Iar, said at the Taburates Telegram, a Russian drone attack on Saturday night caused multiple fire in the region of Central Ukraine. According to initial data, no casualties were reported.
However, no information was immediately known about the full dimension of the attack. No immediate comment was made on the attack by Moscow.
The attack is at a time when preparations are underway to celebrate the victory of the Soviet Union and its allies in World War II to 5 May in Moscow, and uncertainty over whether the war activities will be stopped at that time.
