A meeting of the UN Security Council has been called after Israel's retaliatory attack on Iran. Israel's mission to the United Nations saidthe meeting will be held on Monday (October 27) at the invitation of Iran. The American media reported on CNN.
In a letter to the UN Security Council, the UN Permanent Mission to Iran said Israel's actions were a “serious violation of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity” and a “flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter.”
Israel's ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, said Iran's appeal was “another political attempt to harm us.” He pledged to protect Israel's right to self-defense.
Danny Danon calls Iran's accusations of international law violations against Israel 'ridiculous'. He said, 'Iran cannot hide behind its allies. Because Iran continues to threaten and harm us. And for this he will have to pay a heavy price.'
Israel reported that Iran's military targets were hit in response to Tehran's ballistic missile attack on October 1. The attack did not include any oil or nuclear infrastructure.
According to Iranian state media, four Iranian soldiers were killed in the attack. Tehran says it has the right to self-defense.
