Iran is building a defensive tunnel network in the capital Tehran. A top official of the City Council of Tehran said this. This information was reported by the news agency Reuters citing the Iranian news agency Tasnim News Agency. Basically, this tunnel network is being built to protect against Israeli attacks.
The announcement to build a tunnel network in Tehran comes less than a month after Israel launched an attack on the city. The tunnel network will be built to protect Iran's top leaders, said the head of the transportation department of Tehran's city council.
“For the first time in the country's history, a tunnel (network) with defensive facilities is being built in Tehran,” the head of the transport department of the Tehran City Council told Tasnim News. He said that one end of this tunnel will be near the metro station in the city center and the other end will be connected to Imam Khomeini Hospital.
Earlier, on October 26, ending all speculations, Israel finally attacked Iran. The attack was carried out by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). In a statement released on social media, the IDF said the attack was carried out in response to “months of continuous Iranian attacks” on Israel.
In April this year, an Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy in Syria killed several of the country's top commanders. In response, Tehran attacked Israel with more than 300 missiles and drones. Afterwards, Israel also attacked Iran in response. However, Iran claimed that they had repelled the attack.
Finally, last October 1, Iran attacked Israel again. This time the country uses more than 180 ballistic missiles. Several Israeli military bases and air bases were damaged in that attack. Since then, Israel has been talking about attacking Iran. Israel finally carried out the attack on Saturday.
The IDF said in a statement about the attack on Iran, “Iran and its regional allies have been relentlessly attacking Israel from seven different fronts since October 7 last year. Israel was even attacked directly from Iranian soil. The State of Israel, like any other sovereign country in the world, has the right and responsibility to defend itself and its people.'
“Our defensive and offensive capabilities are fully operational,” Israel Defense Forces chief spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a statement. We will do whatever is necessary to protect the State of Israel and the people of Israel.'
Attack on Iran Completed The Israeli military has announced that the IDF has launched an attack on strategic installations in Iranian territory and that the operation has ended. The IDF said the Israeli Air Force struck Iran's missile-making facilities based on intelligence reports, Reuters reported. Iran attacked Israel with missiles made in these facilities.
