India on Thursday briefed diplomats of almost all G20 member countries and its strategic partners about the Pahalgam terror attack and its link with cross-border terrorism. People having knowledge of the matter gave this information. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri briefed diplomats on various aspects of Tuesday’s terrorist attack in which 26 innocent people were killed, people with knowledge of the matter said.
He also spoke about India’s firm policy of “zero tolerance” against terrorism. The relevant information was given to diplomats a day after India announced a series of steps against Pakistan. India on Wednesday took several important steps, including expelling Pakistani military representatives, suspending the 1960 Indus Water Treaty and closing the Attari land-transit post with immediate effect. The Cabinet Committee on Security chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has finalized punitive measures against Pakistan in view of the cross-border links of the Pahalgam attack.

Diplomats from G20 member countries like America, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Australia, Indonesia and China attended the meeting to convey India’s stand. Diplomats from India’s close strategic partner countries including UAE, Qatar and Malaysia were also present in this meeting.
Misri had said in a press conference held on Thursday night that information about the cross-border links of the Pahalgam attack was given to the CCS, on the basis of which the CCS decided to take action against Pakistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday pledged to give “bigger punishment than even their imagination” to all the terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack and its conspirators, saying the time has now come to “raze the remaining land” of the terrorists to the ground.

Addressing a public meeting organized in Madhubani, Bihar, Modi said that this attack has not happened only on unarmed tourists but the enemies of the country have had the audacity to attack the soul of India. He also said some things in his speech in English, in which he said, “Friends, today I want to tell the whole world from the land of Bihar that India will identify every terrorist and their masters, trace them and punish them. We will pursue them (Pahalgam attackers) to the ends of the earth. Terrorism will never break the morale of India.
