America has framed charges against Indian citizen Vikas Yadav for conspiracy to murder Khalistani Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. Apart from conspiring to murder, Vikas has also been accused of money laundering. America's intelligence agency FBI says that Vikas was associated with India's intelligence agency RAW.
The FBI also said that the Indian government has removed Vikas from his post. Vikas was first in America. He had come to India some time ago. He is a resident of Pranapura village of Rewari district in Haryana state. He was arrested on 10 October. However, India has not yet commented on this claim of FBI.
The American court had made two people accused in the conspiracy to murder Pannu. This included Nikhil Gupta and a person named CC1. Now FBI has identified CC1 as Vikas Yadav. America had already arrested Nikhil Gupta from Czech Republic.
The American Intelligence Agency has posted this photo of Vikas Yadav on its website.
'Vikas gave all the information about Pannu to Nikhil' The FBI has said in the charge sheet that Vikas involved Nikhil Gupta in this conspiracy and gave instructions, in which he had complete information about Pannu. This included Pannu's address, mobile number and every day-to-day activity.
Only after this, Gupta contacted a criminal, whom he considered a contract killer, to murder Pannu. However, he was actually a secret agent of America's Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The FBI says that Yadav had planned to pay 1 lakh dollars (about Rs 83 lakh) for this murder.
America rejected Trudeau's claim – Vikas has no connection with Nijjar's murder… After India's name came up in the conspiracy to murder Pannu, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau had claimed that CC1 was also involved in the murder of Nijjar. However, America has rejected it. The US State Department said that Vikas has no connection with the Nijjar massacre in Canada.
The FBI's claim has come at a time when relations between Canada and India are under stress. Canada accused Indian diplomats of involvement in Nijjar's murder. After this, India has recalled 6 diplomats including the High Commissioner. Apart from this, India also asked Canadian diplomats to leave India.
