What are the swing states that will decide the fate of Trump-Kamala?
Most of the states of America are divided between the Democratic and Republican parties. The states that support the Democratic Party are called Blue states, while the states that support the Republican Party are called Red states. There are some states which support both the parties.
Voters of these states can swing towards any party, that is, they can change. Therefore, both the parties have put full emphasis on winning these states. There are a total of 7 swing states in this election. Both the parties have maximum emphasis on these states.
There are a total of 538 electoral votes i.e. seats in the 50 states of America and the capital Washington DC. There are 93 seats in swing states alone, while Trump or Kamala need to win 270 seats to win the election. In such a situation, the swing states decide the President of America.

How will the votes be counted and when will the results come?
In 95% of America's areas, voting is done using ballot paper or ballot marking device.
Voting will be completed in all important states in America by 9 am today Indian time. With the completion of voting in the states, the counting process will also begin. Usually the results come after 1 day of voting.
In the elections held in 2020, the results were revealed after 4 days of voting. Actually, due to Corona, about 60% people voted through mail. Due to this it took more time to count the votes. This time election results may come in 1 to 2 days.
The greater the difference in votes between candidates during counting, the quicker the results. If there is a difference of more than 50 thousand votes between the two candidates in a state and only 20 thousand votes are left to count, then the leading candidate is declared the winner. This helps in getting results quickly.
If the margin of victory between the two remains less, then a recount will be conducted to confirm the results as per American law.

Will the Supreme Court decide the results of the US elections?
According to the New York Times, the polls so far show a close contest between Trump and Kamala. If the result is not clearly in favor of any one candidate then the matter can go to court.
The court can give its final verdict in such cases where the vote margin between the two candidates is very less.
The US Supreme Court tries to stay away from politics and elections. Most election-related appeals are filed in the lower court.
However, if a case becomes bigger then the chances of it reaching the Supreme Court will also increase.
There was a similar election in the year 2000 in which the Supreme Court had to intervene. In fact, at that time no single party had achieved a clear victory in Florida.
After this the matter reached the court. At that time the court had given its verdict in favor of the Republic Party.
