Rupa Haque is a three-time Member of Parliament from Ealing Central and Acton in London and currently serves on the Media Affairs Committee in Parliament.

He says working in Westminster is still like being in a 'gentleman's club'. Ancient traditions still exist.

The MP also alleged that several MPs 'gave him strange looks' after bringing his 11-year-old son to Parliament during school holidays. There are four different 'women's rooms' for them, he told BBC radio, implying that the rest of the building is for men.

He said these women's rooms have a few ironing boards, a few sofas, a bed and a few magazines. I think it's racism and sexism.

Silver's comments are being discussed both inside and outside of British society and politics, just two weeks after another Labor MP, Don Butler, raised concerns about racism in Parliament.

Rupa Haque, 52, was a sociology teacher before joining politics. The artist and writer most recently served as a senior lecturer at Kingston University.

Rupa Haque is the eldest of the three daughters of Mohammad Haque and Roshan Ara Haque from Bangladesh. His parents came to Britain in 1970. His father's house is in Kuthipara of Pabna city. Rupa Haque is widely popular inside and outside her constituency for her simple and modest demeanor.
