After searching for 16 years, an American woman named DD Boswell faced an important event in her life. Recently, she shared an emotional video of meeting her father for the first time.
According to The Newsweek, Boswell, now 32 years old, turned his life around when he was only 16 years old. At that time, after an argument with his mother, he found out that the father he had known since childhood was not actually his biological father.
“My mother said her husband is not my father,” Boswell told Newsweek. I was surprised to hear this at first. But since then many of my childhood questions have been answered. I was always treated differently from him than other siblings.'
From then on, Boswell started trying to find his biological father. At one stage he tried to know about his ancestors through DNA test. For this purpose in 2013 he took part in a DNA test for the first time. However, the names that came out with genetic links through this test seemed very unfamiliar to him. Boswell says, 'I asked acquaintances and old schoolmates of my mother's — but could not find anything.'
However, the DNA test found a surname and some possible relatives. Later he tried to communicate with them through social media. But Boswell's words were initially viewed with suspicion.
Boswell finally enlisted the help of DNA analysts and private investigators this year. In just 48 hours, they produced a photo, address and complete family tree of her potential father.
About finding the father, Boswell said, 'Going through his (father's) social media profile, he has a contact with my mother.'
Later Boswell also contacted one of the daughters of the prospective father. They are the ones who help to find the father.
Boswell recently came to Texas from Oklahoma and met his real father. Their first meeting was incredible. Boswell said, 'It seemed like a dream. My expectations were not high. Because I didn't want to get hurt again.'
Boswell learns that his father has four other children. One of them is only 10 years old. The discovery of a new relationship brought joy and unity to the lives of Boswell and his father.
