According to the report of the Indian media, Indian Express, they were arrested in a joint operation based on secret information last Thursday. Government Railway Police, Railway Protection Force, Border Security Force and other agencies participated in the operation.
The arrested persons initially claimed to be residents of Vishalgarh in Sipaizla district but later admitted during interrogation that they had come from Bangladesh last Wednesday and were planning to go to Mumbai by train.
Agartala Government Railway Police Officer-in-Charge Tapas Das said, four are residents of Kishoreganj and the remaining two are residents of Noakhali district. We have filed a case. An investigation is underway to find out if anyone else is involved.
A few days ago, three Bangladeshi nationals, including a four-year-old child, were arrested on charges of illegal entry into the northeastern state.
Recently, a significant number of Bangladeshi and Rohingya nationals have been detained from Agartala railway station and other places in Tripura while trying to cross into India and move to other regions. Parts of Tripura's 856 km long Bangladesh border are still unsecured due to local disputes.
