In his welcome speech at the meeting, the administrator of FBCCI said that due to natural calamities including floods, the prices of daily commodities have increased. But now the commodity prices have increased abnormally, which has made the consumers uncomfortable. We have heard of product switching at several stages in the supply chain. The business community needs to work together on how to deliver products to the consumer at a reasonable price while reducing unnecessary handovers.
In view of the various steps taken by the interim government, the prices of eggs and other daily necessities in the market have started to decrease, said Abdul Jabbar Mondal, Assistant Director of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate. He mentioned that the supply crisis has also started to decrease.
Retail and wholesale traders of daily necessities, leaders of various market associations, market analysts and government officials also spoke in the exchange meeting.
Retail and wholesale traders urged the producers and corporate institutions to maintain normal supply of daily commodities including eggs, chicken, onion, potatoes in the market to keep the prices under control.
