The demand of the Islamic Front is that the election should be based on the numerical proportional system


The Bangladesh Islamic Front has demanded that the next election be held on a proportional basis. At the same time, in the current political context of the country, the party has announced a 16-point reform proposal including adding the caretaker government system to the constitution and giving it a constitutional form.

On Thursday (October 24), the Bangladesh Islami Front presented the outline of state reforms at Jahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of the National Press Club. In a press conference organized on this occasion, the General Secretary of the party, Mr. Abdus Samad presented 65 proposals in 16 points. He said that party-neutral caretaker government should be formed on the basis of consensus by dialogue with every political party at least six months before the expiry of the National Assembly elections. For national interest, non-discriminatory election system should be established through dialogue regardless of party affiliation.

He also said that in the election system of 170 countries of the world, about half of the countries are elected by numerical proportional system. In this system, a party gets seats in the national parliament in proportion to the number of votes it gets. So Proportional Representation (PR) i.e. Numerical proportional method should be selected.

At this time, he mentioned about balancing the election system, public administration reform, judiciary reform, anti-corruption commission system, law and order, education system, health, economic, market monitoring, religious and ethnic, culture, foreign affairs, science and technology reform.

Allama MA Matin, Chairman of Bangladesh Islamic Front, Pir Abu Sufian Alkaderi, M Solaiman Farid, Syed Muzaff-far Ahmad Mujaddidi, Golam Mahmud Bhuiyan Manik, Advocate Islam Uddin Dulal, Muhammad Abdul Hakim were also present in the press conference. , Master Abul Hossain, Masudul Islam Masud, Syed Muhammad Abu Azam, Advocate Helal Uddin, Engineer Shamsul Alam Kajal, Mohammad Ali Hossain, Abdur Rab Sultan etc.
