Tickk

Tiktak has brought a new feature called 'Footnote' to prevent false or misleading information. The feature has been launched experimentally in the United States. The feature will work just like the 'Community Notes' by social media X (former Twitter).

Tiktak announced the new feature at a blog post last Wednesday (April 7). With this new feature, users will be able to add additional information and explanations to the video, so that the contents are better understood. In the words of Tickets, it will support their existing information verification activities and initiatives like content label.

According to Tickets, the Footnote Feature will help find a consensus among different opinions. Users will be able to add notes below a post and assess how other users are helpful. If the note is considered 'helpful' to a certain number of users, it will come to others. Then more users will be able to vote for its usefulness.

According to Tickets, the feature will be particularly beneficial for adding relevant and reliable information to complex scientific issues, confusing statistics or ongoing events.

Ticket users can apply as a contributor. However, the condition of becoming a contributor is that the partner should be at least 5 years of age, live in the United States and the ticket must be active for at least six months. Besides, he will not be able to participate in the program if there is any allegations of violation of the Ticket Community Guideline against the user in recent times.

The feature will be experimentally in front of the users in the coming months, Tiktak said.

Tickets have also been criticized in the past for allegedly spreading false information and fake news. Experts were concerned about the tendency to spread misinformation in health and electoral content, especially. With this new feature, the active participation of Tiktak users wants to go a step to prevent these misinformation.

Currently, Tiktaks are working in 5 markets, more than 5 languages and more than 20 recognized information verification agencies. They claim that the footnote feature will strengthen this effort.

However, the advent of this 'footnote' feature is not closing the old features. Search banners, fact-checking programs, content labels and conventional systems will be active as before. If 'Footnotes' associated with these features, the tikot is expected to deal with more information.
