Sending a voice message is much easier than typing. But sometimes the voice message is not heard in front of everyone. In that case, a reply cannot be given without hearing the message. WhatsApp has added message transcribe feature to get rid of this problem. With this feature, voice messages can be easily converted to text.
In a blog post, WhatsApp says voice messages can be converted to text “so you can continue your work and conversations” without interruption. These transcripts are generated on your device. So no one else, not even WhatsApp can listen or read your private messages.
The currently supported languages for the Transcript feature on Android are—English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Russian. On iOS, on the other hand, this feature can be used in French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Chinese and Arabic languages. And iOS 17 and later will add support for Danish, Finnish, Hebrew, Malay, Norwegian, Dutch, Swedish, and Thai.
Voice Message Transcript must be enabled from WhatsApp's Settings option. Then this option will be available in the chat section. Then press and hold on a voice message to convert it to text and tap on 'transcribe' option.
The new feature will roll out globally in the coming weeks. More languages will be added to this feature in future.
Recently Meta has also launched the message drafts feature on WhatsApp. Many people forget to complete the message when other important tasks come up while writing the message. To solve this problem, this feature was introduced in the messaging platform WhatsApp. The feature will help users manage unfinished messages.
Earlier some incomplete messages were partially saved in WhatsApp chats. But this was largely temporary.
