After 10 days of shutdown, mobile internet service has resumed. Today, Sunday (July 28), the Forge service was launched around 3 pm. However, popular and widely used apps Facebook, WhatsApp, TikTok cannot be used in Bangladesh.

Earlier this morning, State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak announced the launch of mobile internet after a meeting with mobile operators at Agargaon BTRC building in the capital. He said that the mobile customers will get 5 GB free internet in exchange for the connection being closed.

Broadband internet service was started on a limited basis last Tuesday (July 23) night after being closed for five days.

Meanwhile, Palak told reporters about the reason for the shutdown of Facebook, the government of Bangladesh has sent a letter to other social media including Facebook-TikTok due to non-compliance with the country's regulations and laws. The concerned have been given four days to respond. They have to answer in between. They removed very little of the content we asked them to remove.
