Instagram has increased the length or duration of reels. This new facility has been introduced to attract TikTok users. As a result, users can create up to 3-minute reels if they want, according to Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram. Users of all countries will be able to create 3-minute reels in stages.
“Content creators say 90 seconds isn't enough,” says Adam Mosseri. We hope that extending the deadline will allow for more in-depth storytelling.'
Not only the timeline of the reels, but also the Instagram profile has been updated. The new design profile replaces the familiar square grid with a rectangular layout. Mosseri said, most users upload content in vertical format. But square grids cut off large chunks of content. The new rectangular grid will improve the content viewing experience.
Earlier, YouTube also increased the duration of their short videos to a maximum of three minutes. This time Instagram also took the same step.
