Google Digital Payment Platform 'Google Pay'. The service is being launched for the first time in the country. Bangladesh Bank Governor of Bangladesh at a hotel in the capital on Tuesday (June 23). Ahsan H Mansur formally inaugurated the service.
City Bank is launching this service by partnering with the technology giant Google. International card brand MasterCard and Visa are associates. City Bank is the first bank of the country to be directly connected to Google Pay.
According to a City Bank statement, customers can now install the 'Google Wallet' app on their Android smartphone and connect City Bank card. They will then be able to make payment through 'Tap and Pay' in NFC convenient stores. The service can also be used in online shopping, subscription payment and in-app purchase in the app.
How can Google Pay be used from Bangladesh
Google Pay is basically a mobile payment and a digital wallet service, which is operated by Google. Users can easily make payment using NFC technology via smartphone by connecting their bank card 'Google Wallet' app. It ensures security through virtual account number without using the original information of the card during payment.
- Download and install the 'Google Wallet' app on the Android phone.
- Open the app and go to the 'Add A Card' option.
- Add City Bank Debit or Credit Card data.
- When the verification is done, your phone is ready for payment.
According to the City Bank, they will provide 25/5 customer support services for any problem related to Google Pay.
