In 2021, China's political conflict with the United States caused problems between Google and Huawei. For this reason, Honor was separated from Huawei that year. Now Huawei is China's local brand and Honor is global. Honor started its journey in Bangladesh market in November 2023.
The smartphone market in Bangladesh is quite competitive. In this situation, Honor has come up with a different key, which will give users a new experience?
Mujahidul Islam: Honor always tries to come up with something new. The main concerns of users in the Bangladeshi market are the durability, quality and price of the phoneset. Considering these issues, we have brought our phonesets in the market in three parts. The first is the X series, called an all-rounder. You will get good quality and durability in this phone set in low budget. For those who love photography or entertainment, there are number series. Those who focus on performance rather than budget

What kind of budget should users keep for buying Honor Phoneset?
Mujahidul Islam: As we still have phoneset manufacturing operations in Bangladesh
It has not been started, so it is not possible to go below the fixed budget even if you want to. However, Honor's lowest budget phone set is available in the market at 13 thousand 999 rupees.
A few global brands have now started manufacturing phonesets in Bangladesh. What is Honor's plan in this regard?
Mujahidul Islam: There is no alternative to manufacturing phonesets here in Bangladesh to run the business for a long time. Yes, Honor has plans for this.
Currently there is no scope to think outside of AI technology. Smartphones now have this facility. How is the use of honor phones?
Mujahidul Islam: Our lowest budget phone has AI capabilities. No global brand has been able to bring such benefits in this budget yet. Although many brands of smartphones have AI technology, users face various problems with them; But Honor makes technology user-friendly.
Users are now aware of getting service after purchasing the phone set. How sure are you of this?
Mujahidul Islam: Although Honor is new in Bangladesh, our partner here is Smart Technology, who have a very strong service network. We are making full use of this facility. We have 18 service centers, 42 collection points across the country. It takes us five to seven working days. Because, after the phone is fixed, we first check whether everything is fine or not. It takes two more days for this.
Although there are smartphones from other countries in the country's market, China's dominance is quite old. How to explain the reason?
Mujahidul Islam: About a decade ago, the country's market was dominated by mobile phones from other European and Asian brands, such as Finland's Nokia, Germany's Siemens, South Korea's Samsung or the United States' Apple. A phone set requires 17 types of components, which were initially made in China. When this market in China is strong, they insist on making phonesets themselves.
Apart from smartphones, Honor has many gadgets. But the demand for gadgets other than phones of tech brands has not been created in the country's market. Why is this?
Mujahidul Islam: It's less likely because the customer doesn't feel the need. Consumers who use gadgets other than smartphones are less, such as the need to use a smart watch has not yet developed. But that market is now being created.
