Hackers are trying to steal the login information of the user's Microsoft Advertising account using Malacy or harmful advertisement in Google search. This has come to the notice of the cyber security firm 'Malwarbite'. The company says the harmful links are being entered into Google search ads. Google's security measures are trying to identify them.
Researchers at Malwites say that hackers are trying to cover the site traffic using various techniques. As a result, security scanners cannot identify the activity of hackers. Those who use VPN are shown a 'white page' where false marketing campaigns. People are asked to participate in the robot verification test there. Those who are identified as 'real' users in this test are taken to a fake Microsoft Ads Platform Login page. This page is also a malacius or harmful domain. There is a wrong message showing the users to change the password. This page also tries to bypass the two-factor authentication (2 FA) protection system.
Jerome Segura, head of Malwites' research, said users should be careful of such false pages and not give their login information on a suspicious website.
The research company has also given some suggestions to keep users in information safe. They are-
Check the site: Verify the site address better before giving login information.
Use Two-Factor Authentication: Use 2 FA feature properly and not allowed before verifying this feature.
Account Surveillance: If you have any abnormal or illegal activity in your advertising account, focus on it quickly.
Report suspicious ads: If you see a suspicious ad, report it. This can ensure the protection of others.
Google says such malasius is aware of ads and is trying to take action against them. They are reviewing the relevant accounts and taking action according to their policies. Through this event it is clear that a strong password is very important and using a good password manager is also very important for security.
