Google is changing the search to prevent EU fine

The European Union (EU) has proposed to present competitors to the search results better to avoid huge anti -trust fine. The news agency Reuters reported the information, citing some documents.

Last March, the European Commission alleged that Google had its own service – such as Google Shopping, Google Hotels and Google Flights were biased and stopping competitors. Three months after the complaint, Google proposed a change in search.

Earlier, the European Union's Digital Markets Act (DMA) said some clear rules have been set to reduce the domination of large technology companies and create competitive markets. The Commission has begun the process of taking strict action against Google for not following this law.

The document states that under the new Google proposal, a 'Vertical Search Service' (VSS) search selected on the basis of objective and non -discriminatory criteria will be available at the top of the search, information, features, including Google. The box will have three direct links to hotels, aircraft, restaurants and transportation, which will select CI VSS itself.

Apart from this, other VSS will also be ranked in the rankings. But they will not get any separate box. Users can click on them if they want.

“We do not agree with the Commission's initial position,” Google said in a letter sent to the contestants. However, we are interested in finding a usable solution, by keeping the subject under consideration. '

The contestants will comment on the proposal at a meeting on July 7. Many have told Reuters on condition of anonymity that these changes are not yet sufficient and it may fail to confirm equivalent competition.
