Tech giant Google may bring Pixel laptop running Android operating system. It could be a high-end Pixel laptop. Google has a dedicated team working on this project.
The laptop is codenamed 'Snowy' within the company. It is compared to high-end laptops like MacBook Pro, Dell XPS, Microsoft Surface Laptop Pro and Samsung Galaxy Chromebook. The device will include advanced features.
More information about the Google Pixel laptop is available in a report by tech website Android Authority. It is said that the laptop will probably use Android operating system instead of ChromeOS. Instead of using ChromeOS and Android separately for Pixel tablets and Pixel laptops, Google is expected to use the Android operating system for both devices.
Google is targeting the premium laptop market. So they may place more emphasis on a premium build. This is hinted at in the laptops the company has chosen to test their upcoming laptops. However, the laptop is still in the early stages of development.
Before this, many laptops or Chromebooks have been brought to the market by Google. In 2013, Google's first laptop, the Chromebook Pixel, hit the market. It was a high-end device, which was also quite expensive. Then in 2015, Google unveiled the second Chromebook Pixel. The company then launched the Pixelbook and Pixelbook Go as more affordable options.
In 2019 Google's latest laptop Pixelbook Go was unveiled. So whether the upcoming laptop will be a successor to the Chromebook series or an Android-based laptop is not yet clear.
Google is not only working with this device. Recently, various reports said that the tech giant is working with Google Pixel Tablet 2. The device may be equipped with an advanced Tensor chipset and may come with an official keyboard cover. The camera of this tablet could be improved. It may have thinner bezels on the Pixel Tablet 2 than the first Pixel Tablet.
