Freelancers demanding to launch PayPal and other international payment gateways in the country


Freelancers and IT professionals have demanded the launch of payment services such as PayPal, Wise and Stripes in Bangladesh. They say that young entrepreneurs and freelancers in the country are working with the international client to the lack of international payment gateway.

The demand was made at a press conference under the banner of 'Bangladesh Freelancer and IT Professional Community' at the Abdus Salam Hall of the National Press Club on Tuesday.

At the press conference, freelancers said that there are more than 1 million active freelancers and IT entrepreneurs in Bangladesh. Those who are playing an important role in the country's economy every year by adding a large number of foreign currency remittances. But as popular payment services like PayPal, Wise and Stripe are still launched in the country, young entrepreneurs and freelancers of the country are facing major restrictions while working with the international client.

Speakers at the time said that the freelancers of this country are lagging behind due to the complexity of payment in Bangladesh even though the worldwide remote job opportunities are increasing. At this time, they urged the present government and the concerned authorities to immediately take effective steps to launch an international payment gateway like PayPal, Wise and Stripe.

After the press conference, freelancers and IT professionals said. It is reported that a memorandum will be submitted to the chief adviser of the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus.

In the memorandum, Bangladesh's economic potential and the availability of international payment system for the progress of the IT sector is now referred to as a demand for time.

Freelancer and IT professionals Emarazina Islam, Abdullah Al Mamun, HM Osman Shakil, Golam Kamruzzaman, Atikur Rahman, Suman Saha, Minhajul Asif, Russell Khandaker and Sajid Islam were present at the press conference.
