Facebook will no longer censor transgender hate speech

Mark Zuckerberg's social media company Meta is desperate to win over Donald Trump. In imitation of Elon Musk's X, third-party factchecking has already been announced. Facebook and Instagram have relaxed the policy of promoting hate speech against transgender, women and immigrants!

The British newspaper 'The Independent' first published a report on this issue. According to reports, on Tuesday, the parent company of these two popular social media apps made some changes in the policy of promoting hate speech and content. Where the clause banning derogatory comments about certain groups is repealed. At the same time, some changes have been made in the policy of promoting anti-transgender speech.

Earlier it was forbidden to compare women to 'household goods' or 'property' on Facebook or Instagram. But it was canceled on Tuesday. Apart from this, the policy on promoting hateful comments about trans or gay people has also been changed. Apart from this, earlier restrictions on speech on the rights of other minorities have also been abolished.

Previously, there were strict restrictions on the dissemination of anti-China speech on Facebook. For example, one could not write on Facebook 'China spread Covid-19' or 'China is responsible'. But Meta's new policy has removed that clause. Observers believe the policy could encourage overt anti-China sentiment.

In addition, some new clauses have been added to the policy on hate speech or content. Anti-trans comments are allowed in these sections. That is, you can now make hateful comments against transgender people on Facebook.

Last Tuesday, Mark Zuckerberg made these changes to Meta's policies. According to analysts, Zuckerberg has made these changes to appease the Republican Party and Trump close ones who are going to form the government. Meanwhile, Zuckerberg canceled Matter's fact-checking program. Moved its content moderation team from California to Texas. In addition, Meta Authority announced last Monday that Dana White, president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and a friend of Trump, will join Meta's board of directors.

A document published by Mater on Tuesday outlined the change in its hate content policy. This is only a summary for the company's content moderators, the details of which are kept secret from general users.

The Independent sought Mater's comments on the matter. But Meta hasn't given any details yet.
