Arab Finance: Shell Egypt confirmed its commitment and leadership in empowering young people and promoting sustainable innovation during the Egypt International Energy Exhibition and Conference “EGP 2025”, which witnessed the “Shell Inn Explorers” awards ceremony and the “Egypt start” program, which is the event that issued the scene during this exhibition Important, according to the statement sent on February 19.
Shell seeks, through leading community investment programs such as Shell Inn Explorer, Egypt's start to refine the skills and capabilities of the next generation of energy sector and entrepreneurs, and provide them with the skills, knowledge, tools and necessary platforms that allow them to achieve tangible change.
Shell celebrated during the “Shell Inn Explorer” awards ceremony, which was held on the sidelines of the Ice 2025 exhibition, with innovative Egyptian youth, which has a promising future, in appreciation of their ability to address many of the sustainability challenges that we are witnessing on the ground in a practical way, through scientific and systematic creative thinking.
This year's competition witnessed the participation of more than 160 young men, and the presence of more than 75 participants representing 13 teams. After a precise selection process, 6 teams for the final qualifiers for this competition arrived, and the “Eko Saif” team won the “Shell Inn Explorer” award this year, for developing an innovative method in reducing the harmful effects of plastic waste on public health by between 50-70% by general 2028, in the Mansheya Nasser area in Cairo
The Eko Seif team is approved to establish modern research centers for recycling technologies and calls for amending legislation to combat the creation of illegal plastic processing and production workshops in cooperation with private sector companies and unofficial garbage collectors. In the end, the team seeks to turn the polluted area into a civilized place that embodies progress and sustainability with the least possible damage to plastic waste.

The Shell Inn Explorers program was launched in 2017, and since then thousands of students from all over Egypt have participated in it, which helped them develop solutions that are compatible with Egypt's 2030 vision and United Nations sustainable development goals (SDGS).
Egypt's launch program: Enabling the next generation of entrepreneurs in Egypt
In addition to the “Shell Inn Explorer” awards, the efforts of six promising startups that participated in the Shell “Egypt start” program were reviewed in the Shler Pavilion at the exhibition, where they had the opportunity to present their innovative work in front of industry leaders, investors and decision makers. These startups work in various fields such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, health care, and electrical movement solutions, and they lead efforts towards economic growth and sustainable business models.
Ahmed Al -Jabri, Director of Social Performance in Shell Egypt, commented on the importance of the “Egypt launch” program, saying: “Entrepreneurship is a strong driving force to enhance economic flexibility and innovation.

Among the startups highlighted by Solar Edge, which has developed a self -cleaning device for solar panels; And the company “Hyperley”, which is a platform that links the stakeholders in the field of renewable energy; And the company “Quta”, an agricultural technology solution that reduces the waste of food using biological decomposing coatings.
Another startup is the “Banana Meed” company, which provided innovative surgical stitches made of banana fibers; And “City”, which is an electrical transition platform that will revolutionize the delivery services of the final consumer; And “Cropptumus”, which works to raise the efficiency of agriculture through biological coal techniques and vital oil.
The “Shell Inn Explorer” and “Egypt's launch” programs are part of the integrated community investment strategy of Shell Egypt, which focuses on education, skills development, and entrepreneurship – the basic pillars of the company's “speeding up progress” strategy.
