Apple's appeal against the order to close the data security feature in the UK

The UK government ordered the company to create a backdoor or secret strategy to the company to enter the encrypted cloud service. The order was originally given to give special permission to the government to enter Apple's iCloud data backup. However, Apple has appealed against this order. According to sources, the British newspaper Financial Times said this on Tuesday.

Last month, the company closed the highest level of data protection feature 'Advanced Data Protection' (ADP) on the iPhone's cloud storage. As a result, Apple can enter the iCloud backup under certain circumstances, which they could not do before. It also included data such as imesage, which can be handed over to the government under legal obligation. When ADP was on, Apple could not access such data.

ADP is a special security system for users, where only the account owners can view pictures or documents stored in their iCloud. It is protected through an end-to-end encryption process. But earlier this month, the UK government sought an opportunity through which they could see this data, which has not yet access to Apple.

There has been a long -standing conflict between government and technology companies over strong encryption, which is seen as a barrier to the authorities for public observation and crime prevention programs. However, the UK's claim is particularly widespread.

In an interview last week, US President Donald Trump called the UK government's claim “something like China”.

The Financial Times reported that Apple appealed against the order last month, just when they canceled the ADP system in the UK. Earlier, Apple received a 'technical capacity notice' under the 'Investigatory Power Act' or IPA. The country's Ministry of Home Affairs issued the notice, where the law enforcement agencies need to provide assistance to various technology companies.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the UK Home Ministry refused to comment. However, he said, “Privacy is specially affected only in the most serious crime and when it is necessary.”

In addition, the US Parliament Agency Reuters said last week that US officials were investigating whether the country's government had violated a bilateral agreement. Because they pressed Apple to create a 'backdoor' to ensure government access to the encrypted cloud backup.
