Apple has announced a service program to fix iPhone 14 Plus camera errors. This type of defect has been found in phones manufactured within the last 12 months. These defective Apple devices will be repaired free of charge by authorized Apple service.
The serial number of the phone will tell whether the device is faulty or not.
However, those who have already paid for the repair of the rear camera of the iPhone 14 Plus can apply for a refund.
Apple's support page says the iPhone 14 Plus has the flaw in 'very small' units. While the rear camera does not show preview while taking pictures. According to Apple, iPhone 14 Plus units manufactured between April 10, 2023 and April 28, 2024 may be affected.
iPhone 14 Plus buyers can check the phone's serial number on the support page to see if their smartphone has this defect and if the phone is eligible for free servicing. Apple said the service program will remain in effect for three years from the date of purchase of the affected phones.
To find out the serial number, access the About option from the phone's Settings app. Then tap and hold the number under the Serial Number section. This will show the option to copy the number. Then go to the Apple Support page from a browser and paste the number. This will let you know if your device is eligible for the service program.
