All online pages related to the Awami League will be closed

The interim government has decided to ban all activities of the Awami League. Law Advisor Asif Nazrul said this at a briefing after the meeting of the Advisory Council in the state guest building Jamuna on Saturday (May 7th).

According to the decision, the Awami League will not be able to conduct any activities not only offline but also online. Under the ban, the Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is going to take steps to stop all activities in the cyber space, including the party's Facebook page.

Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, Special Assistant, Chief Advisor to the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology on Sunday (May 7th), said, “We are waiting for the Advisory Council decision. If the circular is issued, formal letters will be sent to all online platforms including Meta through the BTRC. I hope the BTRC sends a letter to effect quickly. '

Remarkably, the party has a verified page called 'Bangladesh Awami League' on Facebook, with about 1 lakh followers. Immediately after the ban was decided, a post was given on the page on Saturday night and later a formal statement was released.
