Nazmul Hossain Shanto does not want to be captain in three formats. There are many rumors about the future captain of Bangladesh cricket. Many names are coming up. However, before going to play the ODI series against Afghanistan, batsman Tawheed Hriday said that the captaincy should be given to the player who will do something good for the team.
Bangladesh is going to play a three-match ODI in the United Arab Emirates. A part of the team, however, is flying to the desert on Saturday. The rest will go on Sunday. Tawheed Hriday spoke at Mirpur Sher Bangla Stadium before leaving. His name is also heard in the T20 format as a possible captain. When asked about this, he said, 'BCB will decide about the T20 captain. It's none of my business. But I think it won't be just me or one or two. BCB or whoever is in charge, knows better. I think whoever should go for the good of the team should be given the captaincy. And good luck to whoever goes to it.'
At this time he was asked whether he was ready for captaincy. In response, Hridoy said, 'I don't want to talk about this now. As there is a series ahead, I am focusing there.'
After a break of seven months, Bangladesh is coming to play in ODI format. Asked about the preparations for the upcoming series, the batter said, 'Hopefully, I can get off to a good start. Having played well in this edition, I definitely want to start well this time. If we can play according to our ability, it will be good inshallah.'
Tawheed Hriday, Rishad Hossain and Tanjid Hasan Tamim left Mirpur Stadium to catch the plane that day. The three-match ODI will begin on November 6. The remaining two matches are on November 9 and 11.
