New Delhi. Team India, hurt by the defeat against Pakistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup, has hit back just two days later. In its second match, India scored 339 runs for 6 wickets against Japan Under-19 team. This is the record of the highest score in the tournament. Earlier, UAE had scored 325 runs against Japan. Under-19 Indian team captain Mohammad Aman played a century against Japan. Aman played an unbeaten inning of 122 runs in 118 balls.
Earlier on Saturday, the Under-19 Indian team had to face defeat by 43 runs against Pakistan. Pakistan had scored 281 runs for 7 wickets in this match. In response, the Indian team collapsed after scoring 238 runs. The hero of the match was Pakistan's opener Shahbaz Khan, who played a brilliant inning of 159 runs.
The defeat in the very first match was a big blow for the Indian team, which had entered as a contender for the title, but the team soon managed to recover from it. India faced Japan in the tournament. India made a good start in the match and scored 74 runs for one wicket in 10 overs. The team got a good start by openers Ayush Mhatre (54) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (23), but it was captain Mohammad Aman who took the team towards the huge score.
Mohammad Aman came to the crease after the second wicket fell at 81 runs and took charge from one end. He made a partnership of 58 runs with Ayush Mhatre and 103 runs with KP Karthikeya. After the dismissal of Karthikeya (57), India also lost the wickets of Nikhil Kumar (12) and Harvansh Singh (1) in quick succession. But Captain Aman stood at one end till the end. In the end he got good support from Hardik Raj. Aman and Hardik Raj made a partnership of 50 runs in just 24 balls and took India to the score of 339.
