New Delhi. The Indian team has been announced for the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes Tournament. Robin Uthappa will lead the seven-member Indian team in this tournament to be held from 1 to 3 November. Players like Bharat Chipli, Kedar Jadhav, Manoj Tiwari, Shahbaz Nadeem, Shrivats Goswami and Stuart Binny are also included in the squad of 7 players.
The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes Tournament is being held for the first time since 2017 and will be played at the Tin Kwong Road Cricket Ground. A total of 12 countries will participate in this event. The 12 teams will be divided into four pools of three each, which will compete in a round-robin format. The top two teams of each group will qualify for the quarter-finals. Let us tell you that this tournament started in 1992.
The batsman who scored 501 runs in an innings of first class, has scored 53 centuries in international cricket.
The winners of the quarter finals will enter the semi-finals. Whereas the losing teams in the quarter-finals will compete in the plate semi-finals. The lowest placed team in each pool will play in a bowl competition. A total of 29 matches will be played in this three-day tournament. A women's exhibition match will also be held on the final day of the tournament to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
