Before the first test of the series, the Bangladesh team has entered a preparatory match in Antigua. The top order of the visiting Bangladesh team is yet to find its rhythm. Batting on the first day of this two-day match at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, the visitors scored 62 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 14 overs, after which rain stopped the game.
Both Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Zakir Hasan failed. Joy scored 8 runs and caught the ball of Sharon Lewis in the hands of Jordan Johnson. And Zakir Hasan gave the wicket of Zaire McAllister for 15 runs. Muminul Haque (12 *) and Shahadat Dipu (15 *) led the team. Regular captain Nazmul Hossain Shanter's injury has given Shahadat a chance to tour the West Indies.
Mohammad Salah Uddin, the senior assistant coach of the Bangladesh team, is very optimistic about the success of the test with the inexperienced team. In a BCB video message, he said, 'This year's team is quite inexperienced, but I am more impressed by the motivation of the boys. If you want to do well in Test cricket, this desire is the most important.'
Talking about returning to the West Indies after 14 years, Salah Uddin added, 'Looking at the work ethic and enthusiasm of the boys, it seems that they have improved a lot compared to before. If you keep this process, good results will come in the future.'
