South African pacer reprimanded by ICC

South African pacer Gerald Coetzee has been punished for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct. He was reprimanded by the International Cricket Council for opposing the umpire's decision in the fourth T20I against India in Johannesburg.

Coetzee expressed displeasure with an umpire's decision in India's innings. The Proteas pacer made inappropriate comments towards the umpire when he gave him a wide.

Coetzee confessed to the crime. There is no need for a hearing as the penalty is also accepted. A demerit point has also been added next to this pacer's name.

On the same day, Netherlands captain Scott Edwards and Oman's Sufyan Mahmoud were punished for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct. The Dutch captain expressed his displeasure with the umpire's decision of lbw in the match between the two teams. After giving out, show the bat to the umpire. He threw his bat and gloves while leaving the field and going to the dressing room.

The ICC did not take the matter lightly. Edwards received two demerit points. He was fined 10 percent of the match fee.

Meanwhile, Oman's Sufyan went in front of Netherlands batsman Teja Nidamanuru after dismissing him and asked him to go to the dressing room. He was punished for this. He has to pay a fine of 10 percent of the match fee along with one demerit point.
