New Delhi. Indian cricket team will play 5-match Border Gavaskar Trophy on Australia tour. The first match is going to start from 22nd November in Perth. There seems to be little hope of captain Rohit Sharma playing in this match. He has become the father of a second child and due to this he may stay out of the Perth Test match. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has expressed his views regarding this.
Rohit Sharma became the father of a second child on 15 November. His wife Ritika Sajdeh has given birth to a son. The Indian captain also shared this good news with his fans. After the birth of the son, news is coming out that Rohit Sharma will not be able to play in the Perth Test. He wants to spend time with family and newborn. According to TOI, he has also informed BCCI about this.
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly, while talking to RevSportz, said, “I hope that Rohit Sharma will join the team soon, because the team needs a captain. His wife gave birth to a son last night (Friday), so I'm sure he can go. He can leave as soon as possible and if I were in his place, I would have played the Perth Test.”
Ganguly further said, “The first Test match to be played with Australia is a week away. Because this is a big series and perhaps he will not go to Australia after this. He is a brilliant captain. India needs its captain in the beginning.”
