Nitya Pandya played an inning of 94 runs in the second youth test against Australia's Under-19 team. Thanks to Nitya's innings, India's Under-19 team scored 316 runs for 5 wickets on the first day of the match. Nitya Pandya had played innings of 9 and 51 runs in the first youth test match.
18 year old Nitya Pandya considers India's star cricketer Virat Kohli as his idol. Nitya's coach Digvijay told 'Indian Express', 'When he talks, he plays his natural game. He usually doesn't take pressure, but was nervous in the last match. He told that in the last match he played a shot on a ball which was beyond his reach. This means he was under pressure.
Digvijay tells that Nitya has been influenced by Virat Kohli since the beginning. He said, 'He has learned by watching Kohli to continuously talk or sledge on the field. He wants to be like Kohli. Playing shots like Kohli, being aggressive… if he is calm on the field then understand that his mind is somewhere else.
The second Youth Test is being played in Chennai between the Under 19 teams of India and Australia. The Indian team scored 316 runs for 5 wickets on the first day. Nitya Pandya scored the highest score of 94 runs in the match. KP Karthikeya played an inning of 71 runs and Nikhil Kumar played an inning of 61 runs. Captain Soham Patwardham was unbeaten at stumps on the first day after scoring 61 runs. India won the first Youth Test match by 2 wickets.
