India will not go to Pakistan to play Champions Trophy. If they decided to do the same in the Asia Cup, Pakistan organized it in a hybrid model. But they made it clear at the ICC special meeting yesterday that they will not accept the hybrid model for next year's tournament. The meeting was adjourned in just 20 minutes without any decision. According to Indian media India Today, the PCB is willing to accept the hybrid model, but on three conditions.
Neither ICC nor PCB has made any official announcement in this regard yet. However, reports say that India will play their matches in the United Arab Emirates.
What are the three conditions, the media said. The first is that the matches of the Indian cricket team will be held in Dubai. Even though the group matches, they reached the semi-finals and the final at the venue Emirates.
The second condition is that if India fails to clear the hurdle of the group stage, Pakistan will host the semi-final and final in Lahore.
The last condition is that if any future ICC event is held in India, Pakistan will play their matches at neutral venues.
