Noman-Sajid's spin dominated Pakistan on 19-wicket day


West Indies breathed a sigh of relief by crushing Pakistan after breaking the 141-run partnership of Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan. After bowling out Pakistan for 230 runs in the first innings, they made a comeback. Caribbean all out for 137 runs in less than one session. Pakistani spinners Noman Ali and Sajid Khan shared 9 of their 10 wickets.

Both teams lost 16 wickets in two sessions. However, Pakistan dominated the second innings in the last session. Captain Shan Masood's half-century saw the hosts take a 202-run lead with seven wickets still in hand.

On the day of 19 wickets, there was a huge collapse in the middle session. Noman and Sajid had no answer for the Caribbean. All but 14 deliveries were done by the two spinners in this innings. Windies were all out for 137 runs in 25.2 overs.

After the Caribbean lost eight wickets for 66, Jomel Warrican scored 71 for the last two wickets with Gudakesh Moti (19) and Jayden Sills (22). His 31 was a personal best for the visitors.

Noman took 5 wickets with 39 runs in 11 overs. Sajid gets four, gives 65 runs.

Going into the second innings with a lead of 93 runs, Masood and Mohammad Huraira's 67-run partnership gave Pakistan a good start.

After Huraira (29) returned, Babar Azam (5) departed quickly. In the last part of the day, Masud stopped with 52 runs off 70 balls. Kamran Ghulam (9) and Shakeel (2) ended the day with an unbeaten partnership of three runs. Warrican took two wickets for West Indies. In the second innings, Pakistan collected 109 runs for 3 wickets.

Pakistan started the second day's play with 143 for four in the first innings. When Shakil departed for 187 runs, the hosts' batting line collapsed. Rizwan scored 71 runs. And only Sajid (18) scored double-digit home runs.

Sills and Warrican took three wickets each in the first innings.
