Nazmul Hossain Shanto is not able to play ODI series against West Indies like Test series. Shakib Al Hasan is not here either. Parvez Hussain Imon came as a surprise in the ODI series against Windies.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the squad for the three-match ODI series against the West Indies in a notification today. Mehdi Hasan Miraj is the captain of the 15-member team. Eamon, who was part of the West Indies series, has played T20 Internationals before but has not played in ODIs. Shant is out of the series as he has not recovered from a groin injury. Tawheed Hriday is also suffering from a groin injury. BCB doctor Manjur Hossain Chowdhury said, 'The heart was experiencing pain in his right groin and further tests revealed a problem. He has been advised to rest and we will reassess his condition after two weeks.'
Afif Hossain Dhrub is returning to this edition after almost a year with the ODI series against West Indies. Afif last played an ODI against New Zealand in Dunedin in December last year. Mahmudullah Riyad, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, Tanjid Hasan Tamimra are staying with Emon in the batting lineup. Hasan Mahmud, Shariful Islam and Tanjim Hasan Shakib are staying with Nahid Rana in pace bowling.
Mirage is currently leading Bangladesh in the Test series against the West Indies. The second Test of Bangladesh-West Indies series is going on in Jamaica. There will be three ODIs on December 8, 10 and 12. All three matches will be played in St. Kitts.
