Naeem Sheikh's 20 run regret


Naeem Sheikh was running towards the first double century of his career after reaching the first century of the current season in the National Cricket League. But this opener was deprived of 'double' for only 20 runs. Dhaka Metro built a mountain of 475 runs on Naeem's 180 runs on Sunday. Naeem returned to Sajghar as the first wicket of the day with a 76-run partnership with Marshall. Then Marshall's 61, Al Amin Jr.'s 44, Aminul Islam Biblab's 30 and Tajibul Islam's 73 from the previous day made Dhaka Metro amass a total of 475 runs.

Among Rangpur's bowlers, Ariful Haque took three wickets and Rabiul Haque took two wickets.

With a mountain of 475 runs on their head, Rangpur fell into a batting disaster in the last hour of the last session. They lost two wickets to score 32 runs in 16 overs. On the first and fifth balls of the first over, two openers of Rangpur, Khaled Hasan and Chowdhury Mohammad Rizwan, got out without opening the run book. Abdullah Al Mamun (6) and Naeem Islam are unbeaten on 16 runs. Rangpur will start the third day of the match trailing by 443 runs on Monday.
